Emily Taylor

Emily is a junior Dietetics major with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is also in the Honors Program. She hopes to become a Registered Dietitian upon completion of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics.  She is an Undergraduate Research Assistant under Dr. Amy Mobley, and works on projects that address issues such as food insecurity and diet quality.  She is passionate about public health and food access, and hopes to someday pursue graduate study.

On campus, Emily is a member of the Sigma Alpha sorority for professional women in agriculture, treasurer of Real Slow Food at UConn, a first-year mentor in the Peer Allies Through Honors program, and a member of the Nutrition Club. She is joining College Ambassadors this year so she can share her love of CAHNR and all it has to offer.

High School Attended: Medfield High School, MA

Three Pieces of Advice for Prospective Students:

  1. Get involved right away—that’s how you find friends and interests that will make your time in college memorable.
  2. Be open to new possibilities. It’s okay to change your major, your track, or your goals.
  3. Take care of yourself! Get enough sleep, eat right, and find healthy ways to manage your stress.
