Keiona Khen

Keiona is a junior in the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Nutritional Science and after graduation, she hopes to become a Registered Dietitian.

At UConn, Keiona is a McNair Scholar and has been very involved in research. This year she is doing community-based research, specifically between low income families and nutrition. She recently had a paper published in a journal as a co-author on her work using nanotechnology to encapsulate nutrients. She is excited for the many opportunities that UConn has to offer and the experiences she will gain throughout her stay.

3 piece of advice for Prospective Students:

  1. Be you, unapologetically- Don’t be scared of being yourself, whether it’s different from the norm or not. Be confident in yourself, because everything is what you make it to be.
  2. Stay organized- school can get hectic and frustrating, but keeping organized helps curb a lot of the stress you will experience.
  3. Focus- it’s okay to have fun, but staying focused is what’s going to get you to the finish line. You got this!
