Shaun Thomas

Shaun is a senior in College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources. Shaun is currently majoring in Allied Health Sciences with a concentration in Health Sciences, following a Pre-Dental track in hopes of becoming a General Dentist after completing his undergraduate studies.

At the University of Connecticut, Shaun is a member of the Pre Dental Society, a member of the Indian Student’s Association, an Altar Boy for St. Mary’s Knanaya Church, a Sunday School teacher and a Peer Advisor at the UConn’s Office of Student Financial Aid Services. He is currently working in a psychology research lab as a research assistant helping with a study on physiological responses in regard to stress. This is Shaun’s second year as a CAHNR ambassador and he is very hopeful in exemplifying the college, helping prospective students learn about the college and how it expresses the university as an agricultural school.

Three Pieces of Advice for Prospective Students:

  1. Make sure you manage your time so you have time fun and studying so you don’t become overwhelmed.
  2. It’s okay to fail. As a new student, you will learn what your strengths and weaknesses are during your first year. In the beginning it will be hard, but don’t let those failures bring you down. Work hard and don’t give up; everything else will fall in place!
  3. Keep an open mind and try new things. You will never know what interests you unless you give it a try!
