Amanda Michelson is a senior in the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. She is on the pre-veterinary track and hopes to attend veterinary school when she graduates.
On campus, she is a mentor for elementary school children in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, a member of the Pre-Vet club, a host in the Husky for a Day program, and serves as recruitment chair for Sigma Alpha, a professional agricultural sorority. Amanda also works as a student administrative assistant in the Office of Academic Programs within the college and enjoys sharing her love of UConn with prospective students. She became a College Ambassador as a way to give back to CAHNR and to advocate to prospective students all of the great opportunities and resources that the college provides.

Three Pieces of Advice for Prospective Students:
- Get to know other students and faculty involved in your major; most likely they will be a helpful resource and you’ll have some common interests!
- Figure out study habits that work for you personally.
- Join a club that you wouldn’t normally have considered or is outside of your comfort zone.
