Prina Deva

I am a junior in the College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources (CAHNR), majoring in allied health sciences. I plan on applying to physical therapy school soon so that I can attend a program once I graduate from UConn. Being part of the pre-physical therapy society here on campus has provided much needed guidance for me as I’ve navigated through pre-requisite courses, as well as internships at inpatient and outpatient settings. Furthermore, I have had experiences in senior living communities as a volunteer, and pharmaceuticals as a pharmacy technician for over four years. I am looking forward to being involved with UConn and the outside community as a CAHNR ambassador this year and hope to offer direction to prospective students and give the kind of advice that I sought when I was in their position.

Three Pieces of Advice:

  1. Get involved on campus. It is an easy way to make new friends and feel more at home at the university.
  2. Be organized. It is not hard to get caught up with work in classes as well as life outside of classes. Stay on top of assignments and build a routine to avoid getting too overwhelmed.
  3. Enjoy the moment. College really does go by fast. Appreciate the good and bad, in all aspects. Experiences develop the promising individual you were meant to be.
