Reese Nguyen

Hi! My name is Reese Nguyen, and I’m from Southbury, CT. I’m a junior majoring in Pathobiology and English, with a minor in Molecular and Cell Biology. I’m a part of the Honors program and am currently on the pre-medical track. My primary career goals involve receiving training in Emergency Medicine and eventually spending time abroad providing healthcare to underserved communities. I work as an EMT-B in my hometown, and I have long since fallen in love with the unpredictability and breadth of patients served within Emergency Medicine. My passion for International Medicine stems from my parents, who both grew up in rural Vietnam, with limited access to medicine, as well as from my love for studying languages. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, reading, and gardening. I’m fortunate enough to be able to combine my love for plants and biology, as I conduct research on Mimulus flowers under Dr. Yuan in the EEB department. On campus, some of the organizations I’m involved with include Page to Stage, PATH, and Love for Our Elders! Last but certainly not least, my favorite Dairy Bar ice cream flavor is Cinnamon Caramel Swirl (it tastes like the milk left in the bowl after you have Cinnamon Crunch Cereal!)
