Three Pieces of Advice for Prospective Students:

  1. Do undergraduate research. Getting started is daunting, but it has brought me so many wonderful opportunities that I feel have boosted my confidence in the laboratory setting, and in general.
  2. It’s okay to try one activity, hate it, try another one, hate it, and try again. It’s okay to take time to find that activity/club/organization that really means something to you.
  3. Ask for help! Seriously, your professors, TAs, the Academic Programs office, and so many other resources are available to you at a university this large.
